We arrived into Cozumel around 6:15am and docked at the Puerta Maya pier. Our younger sister ship, the Ruby Princess, was already docked at the International pier next door. I mentioned to Hubby we'll be cruising with her next year from Ft Lauderdale. That made seeing her in port extra special.

Arriving into Puerta Maya pier:
We were scheduled to meet our excursion group at 8:30am in the Princess Theater. Once there, we were told to go ashore and meet our guide. Well, we didn't get that far. We were standing in a long line on deck 4 waiting to exit. Then they closed the gangway door. Another ship was docking next to us and no one was allowed on the pier except the port employees. We were told to walk back to the upper decks and wait. Yes, there were many disgruntled fellow cruisers. Many worried about missing their excursions. No worries! They excursion guides will wait, especially when there were hundreds of cruisers who were still on the ship.
After a 15 minute wait, we were allowed to exit the ship. Funny to watch the masses of fellow cruisers swarm down to deck 4 and exit the gangway. The first thing we noticed was the warmer temperature and a few clouds in the sky. A great beach day!
Our excursion boat:
We boarded a boat and headed to the northwest coast of Cozumel. This was a treat for us, as we haven't seen this part of the island. We traveled past many resorts and residences along the coast.

After we traveled for 30 minutes in open water, we saw Passion Island in a distance. A beautiful white sand beach awaited us.

I couldn't miss this photog opportunity of Paco/Pablo/Pancho taking our portrait:
Is this island beautiful? This is fine white sand!
We found this church on the beach:
What do you think about having church service here?
I have so many pictures to post that I have to break this post into separate pieces/parts. I'll be back with parts 2 and possibly 3.
