Cruise Life:  This morning we woke up to our usual time around 6am. Hubby was able to get in 9 hours of sleep. I had 8 hours. We definitely needed our rest. The water was calm this morning with slight movement on the ship. The pool water was calm with no swishing around.

After breakfast, Hubby decided to take a few naps. I on the other hand had several tasks to take care of today. First on the agenda was to do a load of laundry. I collected two bags full of dirty clothes and headed towards the back of the ship. To give you an idea, we are in cabin # 216. I had to walk down the long hallway til I reached cabin #720 which is next door to the Laundromat. I estimated that was a bit less than 1/4 mile walk.

I was actually excited to do the laundry this morning as I heard Princess had replaced the dollar bill machine that makes change. I found a set of machines (washer/dryer) available to use. I looked up at the coin machine and saw a touch screen. I pressed "English" and the next screen showed me the rates: Washer-$3.00 Dryer-$3.00 Vending-$1.50 I pressed "Continue" and then selected a washing machine and selected the vending machine. It calculated the total cost of $4.50 and told me to swipe my cruise card. Bam! Two coins fell out of the machine. One coin was for the soap/detergent dispensing machine and the other was for the washing machine. I placed a coin in the soap machine and received a box of All detergent. I loaded the washing machine and placed the last coin in the slot to start the wash. I'm a happy camper. Swiping my cruise card to get coins is a huge improvement. Previous years, I either had to bring rolls of quarters, or get change from the Purser's desk or bring crisp dollar bills. Many times, the change machine would be broken.

It took 30 minutes for the wash and 45 minutes for the dryer. I also brought my own softener sheets to use in the dryer. Hubby joined me in the Launderette and folded all his clothes. Sweet!

One task down, several more to go. We were given waiver forms for one of our snorkeling excursion in Cozumel. We read all the fine print and signed them and I had to submit them to the Excursion Desk before 11am this morning. Done!

Next on the list was to take some pictures of the different venues. I also wanted to pick up today's Sudoku puzzles. Hubby saw that Princess was hosting a drawing for a free cruise. We filled out several copies of the forms and he sent me on my merry way to the Shopping Spotlight Show in the Princess Theater at 10:30am. I hand over all the forms and quickly find a seat close to the stage. They were giving away a heart shaped pendant (with diamond) and necklace along with a tanzanite pendant. I sat for an hour to hear about the different islands and all the shops. Stuff I already knew from previous visits to the islands. The drawings/raffles took place and two other ladies were lucky winners. The drawing for the free cruise will take place in March. We are very hopeful.

I come back to the room a little before noon. I decided to spend some time on the balcony and enjoy the warm weather. It looks like we're sailing about 20 knots through the water. There are small wavelets going by. There's something about watching water, feeling the ship rocking a bit, and getting very sleepy.

After a late lunch, Hubby and I decide to walk around outside on the deck #7 (Promenade). Two and a half times around this deck equals one mile. That's what we did and then some. We start to notice that the winds pick up and the small wavelets are no longer small. As we approach the forward section of the ship, the wind is trying to carry us to the other side of the ship. I think we're in for a ship rocking night.

Tonight is formal night. We check the dinner menu and notice it's the same menu from last week. We decide to skip formal night and the dining room. I might go down to the Piazza and take pictures of the champagne waterfall. The ship is really rocking right now and I'm sure they will do another scaled down waterfall glass setup. Last week, they filled the champagne glasses with some red liquid to coincide with the name of the ship...Ruby Princess. Only fitting.

Tonight's movie at MUTS:  The Giver

Looks like I'm finally caught up with the cruise posts. Now all I need is for the Internet connectivity to behave so I can upload the remaining posts. Stay tuned!
