This is our first time to Blue Bay Beach and we were not disappointed. We paid an $8 per person entrance fee and we picked the last set of lounge chairs under a palm tree. As we are settling in, a brief rain storm made an appearance. Yes liquid sunshine at it’s best! Eventually the sun came out and we grabbed our snorkel gear and headed into the water. We were able to see some fish, but not much else. I swam back to the beach and introduced D to snorkeling. He was able to stick his head in the water, breath through the snorkel, and see some fish swimming around him. Awesome! Now we have him hooked on life underwater.
We walked around the beach and the resort’s dock area taking in its beauty. Every now and then we would see iguanas sitting on the rocks sunning themselves. We enjoyed our beach time and after two days at sea…it was a much needed land break.

Here’s a picture taken with our GoPro. Can you see the iguana?

We told our taxi driver to come back in 2-1/2 hours. Good thing as there were no taxis waiting at the resort when we decided to leave.
Curacao is not known for great snorkeling or for great beaches, but we managed to find a wonderful place with beautiful beach views and spend a few hours away from our fellow cruisers.
